Some women have a thigh gap. Others do not. End of story – there’s no body shaming here. But those of us rocking mermaid thighs often need to deal with one of nature’s most painful afflictions – thigh chafe. Just writing about it makes me flinch involuntarily.
If you’re reading this, chances are you’ll also have been there. It starts with a walk – an innocuous, gentle stroll, perhaps with a partner or friends on a beach, or in a park, embracing a gorgeous, sunny day. Your thighs start to tingle – and not it the pleasant way they do when watching the volleyball beach scene in Top Gun Maverick. They start to itch and burn, really burn, and your strolling gait now implies you are of the same genetic makeup as Huey, Dewey and Louie. When you are finally able to waddle to your destination, your thighs are red, irritated and feel like they could melt an iceberg. And it’s EINA! Bigtime EINA!
When it comes to chafing, it’s all about moisture and friction and that repeated rubbing of skin. So, whether that moisture comes from sweat, a dip in the pool or the sea, add a bit of skin-on-skin friction and bingo! You have thigh chafe. At the beach, the addition of salt and sand further aggravates the situation. Equally, the salty remnants of dried sweat also exacerbate friction. The good news, and I wouldn’t be writing this if there wasn’t, is that we have the perfect solution – Thank Goodness!
Thank Goodness Anti-Chafe cream protects your thighs by preventing activity, anything from regular walking to strenuous exercise, from becoming thigh chafe.
- Nourishing moisturisers, along with Lanolin and Tea-tree oil form an invisible, protective barrier
- Provides long-lasting protection against friction and chafing
- Non-sticky and non-greasy, it absorbs quickly and won’t stain your clothing, costume or towels
- Apply generously to the inner thighs, wherever skin-on-skin rubbing is likely to occur, prior to starting out for your walk or chosen exercise. In conditions where the skin in under intense duress, re-apply as necessary.
For any existing irritation, a light application of Thank Goodness will help alleviate inflammation and irritation. Keep the area clean and dry to avoid any growth of bacterial and yeast infections. If symptoms persist, seek medical advice.
